Several Irish filmmakers and actors came together at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square on March 20 for the opening of the 14th Annual Irish Film Festival, the largest of its kind outside of Ireland. Attendees included Academy Award-nominated director Steph Green and actress Ruth McCabe, of Philomena fame, accepting the award for Best Breakthrough Feature, Run & Jump; director Brian Deane and editor Eamonn Cleary accepting the award for Most Inspiring Breakfast Short for Volkswagen Joe; and director Ian Fitzgibbon and actor/comedian Dylan Moran of Breakfast Wine, this year’s Director's Choice Short film awardee.
