Pizza Haven

Founded in 1925, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven, Connecticut has been one of the most famous pizza parlors in the country for decades, racking up accolades from pizza lovers worldwide. Now both newbies and indoctrinated fans can taste why at Pepe’s first Boston area location at The Shops at Chestnut Hill (199 Boylston St., 617-964-7373, pepespizzeria.com), which emulates the Nutmeg State mainstay right down to its 14-by-14-foot coal-fired brick oven. From the original Frank Pepe pie topped with tomato sauce, grated cheese, olive oil and oregano (mozzarella is extra) to the white clam pie that Pepe’s invented in the 1960s, the pizza at the Chestnut Hill outpost is sure to draw aficionados from far and wide. Enjoy the authentic flavors of these delectable creations whose crusts exhibit the just-right combination of crunch, chew and char.
