Toast of the Back Bay

For those who don’t want to cross the Charles River for their huevos rancheros and pumpkin pancakes, Boston finally has its own outpost for the spot hailed as one of “The Best Breakfast Places in America” by Esquire magazine. Born in Portsmouth, N.H., and boasting a popular location in Cambridge’s Kendall Square, The Friendly Toast (35 Stanhope St., 617-456-7849, thefriendlytoast.com) now has the Back Bay covered for its all-day breakfast needs. More than eggs and French toast are on tap, however, as the eatery also offers a full range of burgers, sandwiches, burritos, adult beverages and even a back lounge open until 3 a.m. on weekends.
