The magic of the season wouldn’t sparkle quite as bright without Boston Ballet’s ever-popular staging of that timeless tale The Nutcracker, at the Boston Opera House through December 31. Already a longtime tradition and one of the most acclaimed productions of the ballet in the country, the show was nevertheless reinvigorated by artistic director Mikko Nissinen in 2012 with the introduction of new sets and costumes to complement the beloved story of Clara, a young girl who travels to an enchanted land when her toy nutcracker comes to life. Take the family and marvel at the exquisite classical dancing, Tchaikovsky score and eye-popping visuals, not to the mention the joyful addition of dozens of tiny dancers from the Boston Ballet School experiencing the thrill of a lifetime by being part of this dazzling holiday show.
