Steampunk Circus

In what has become a much-anticipated annual tradition, Montreal’s world-famous Cirque du Soleil once again returns to Boston, this time with its steampunk spectacle Kurios—Cabinet of Curiosities in tow. Situated under the iconic blue-and-yellow tent at Suffolk Downs in East Boston from May 26–July 10, the show unfolds as the Seeker, an eccentric inventor, discovers a hidden world when his curios come to life as outlandish, benevolent characters. The dazzling set packed with Industrial Age-inspired creations has been described by set designer Stéphane Roy as “Jules Verne meets Thomas Edison in an alternate reality, out of time.” With a record-breaking amount of props for the troupe and a contingent of 116 performers from 22 different countries, this production is one of Cirque du Soleil’s most ambitious to date, so don’t miss out on all the amazing artistry, acrobatics and, above all, fun.
