The Art of Craft
The Society of Arts and Crafts, the country’s oldest craft non-profit, may be on the move from its former Back Bay digs to new headquarters in the Seaport District later this spring, but its semi-annual CraftBoston (539 Tremont St., 617-266-1810, societyofcrafts.org) celebration isn’t going anywhere. This spring’s edition, taking place at the Boston Center for the Arts’ Cyclorama April 29–May 1, is a showcase of the work of 90 artists and their handmade jewelry, clothing, furniture and home decor. Enjoy an opening reception, the Makers in the Round Preview Party, on April 28 from 6–9 p.m., which features a sneak peek at all the wares on sale, as well as hors d’oeuvres and craft libations.
