Fairs in the Square

Now in its 40th year, the annual Harvard Square May Fair (pictured) has become Cambridge’s most fun sign of spring over the past several decades. On May 4 from 11 a.m.–6 p.m., revelers can once again experience live music, dance, street performers, arts and crafts vendors, family-focused activities, a wide array of international food and more in the thoroughfares surrounding the country’s oldest university.
The fun doesn’t end in early May, however, as partygoers can return for more excitement on May 17 from noon–7 p.m. for The Peoples Party. This block party centered on Church Street features more than 100 vendors, DIY stations and a variety of entertainment for a $20 admission fee.
