If you think a musical based on one of the most beloved children’s stories of all time by one of the greatest children’s authors of all time is a great idea, then you’re in luck. The multiple Tony Award-winning Matilda The Musical, based on the book by Roald Dahl, takes the stage at the Boston Opera House through June 26. The story of a precocious schoolgirl who leads a revolt against her tyrannical headmistress was adapted by Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly and produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company, debuting in London in 2011 before making its way stateside in 2013. Now, for the first time, Beantown audiences can finally witness this acclaimed, family-friendly extravaganza for themselves.
