Pop stars brighten this Independence Day when singers Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato join the Boston Pops on the Hatch Shell stage for the 43rd annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. This summer concert staple by the Charles River begins at 8:30 p.m. when, for the 21st year, conductor Keith Lockhart and the Pops dive into a treasure trove of patriotic and popular favorites, eventually joined by Jonas and Lovato before the grand finale of the “1812 Overture” and the beginning of the ever-awe-inspiring fireworks at 10:30 p.m.
About half a million spectators lined the banks of the Charles River for last year’s performance, so get your spot early if you want an up-close look—and listen—of this beloved tradition.
