Situated on the Mystic River, this gleaming new oasis offers all the luxurious excesses one would expect from the Las Vegas-based parent company, Wynn Resorts, including 15 top-notch dining and lounge options, 27 floors of plush hotel rooms, indulgent shopping, a pampering spa and salon, and, of course, 210,000 square feet of gaming, enough to keep any poker, blackjack or slot machine enthusiast occupied for hours. Other amenities include the six-acre Encore Harborwalk, a riverside park that opens up the Mystic shoreline to visitors for the first time in more than a century. And getting there is no problem, as bus and water shuttles from nearby MBTA stations as well as downtown Boston are all in the works.
