As if the summer wasn’t hot enough, the blockbuster multi-media extravaganza Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience makes its world premiere July 8 right here in the Hub. Organized by National Geographic and running simultaneously at the organization’s Washington, D.C. museum, this exhibition uses state-of-the-art film projections that transport visitors to modern-day Egypt to visit such legendary locales as the Temple at Karnak and the Giza Plateau, where both the pyramids and the Great Sphinx reside. Onlookers proceed through six galleries of wonderment, including a descent into the boy pharoah’s tomb, which was unearthed a century ago in the Valley of the Kings. As an extra treat for VIP ticket holders, a virtual reality version of the aforementioned descent is also available. Secure your entry to the SoWa Power Station in the South End now before you have to wait another 3,000 years to enjoy such a unique opportunity to explore the ancient world.
