Pesce at the Pier

It would seem appropriate that the North End’s newest dining destination, Il Molo (326 Commercial St., 857-277-1895, ilmoloboston.com), is located near Boston Harbor—it is, after all, a seafood restaurant. With a name translating as “the pier” in Italian, Il Molo—just two blocks from the Italian-American neighborhood’s dining epicenter of Hanover Street—is just steps from Union Wharf and not far from many of Boston’s waterfront attractions. It’s the perfect setting in which to enjoy fresh, locally sourced fish—from Maine lobster and oysters to seafood stew and New England cod loin with chorizo and white beans—all brought to you by the father/son team of Donato Frattaroli (of Lucia Ristorante) and Donato Frattaroli, Jr., and nationally renowned chef Pino Maffeo.
