High 5: Valentine’s Dining

Indulge your romantic side at these tempting eateries

Artisan Bistro: The Ritz-Carlton Boston’s cozy eatery boasts a special prix fixe menu on February 14 that includes three choices each for appetizers (baked brie, Caesar salad or roasted beet and cauliflower bisque) and entrees (lobster and crab ravioli, duck confit or blood orange-glazed salmon that can be adjusted to include tofu for vegans), followed by chocolate flourless cake with caramel banana gelato, strawberry compote and roasted pineapple for dessert.

Atlantic Fish Co.: Celebrate love with fresh seafood at this Back Bay mainstay, which offers a three-course menu highlighted by options like lobster cargot, pan-seared Norwegian salmon, and lobster and truffle risotto, as well as land-based dishes like the peppercorn-crusted ribeye accompanied by lobster-studded potatoes. Other temptations include dessert (espresso crème brulée or chocolate truffle) and themed cocktails like the French Kiss (cognac, Cointreau and lemon) and the gin-based Love Potion.

Contessa (pictured): Elevate your Valentine’s Day rendezvous by partaking in a three-course indulgence at this rooftop escape at the luxurious Newbury Boston. Italian specialties abound: tuna crudo and burrata are among the antipasti selections, followed by spicy lobster ravioli and main dishes like filet mignon with black truffle sauce or grilled Mediterranean branzino. Top it off with Nutella fudge cake or homemade coffee gelato.

Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse: Head to the Seaport location February 14 or 15 for a three-course prix fixe meal that presents openers like Maine lobster bisque, tuna tartare and seared foie gras alongside a wide range of hearty meat, seafood and pasta dishes before finishing with impossible choices like red velvet cake, passion fruit and raspberry semifreddo, or key lime and strawberry tartlet for a truly grand finale.

Matria: More Northern Italian-inspired goodness adjacent to Boston Harbor awaits at the InterContinental Boston’s spacious dining room, which serves, among other delights, Piedmont ribeye with lobster tail cannelloni, butternut squash, celery root, chanterelles, confit root veggies and a truffle demi-glace sauce, all accompanied by a backdrop of live music to set the proper romantic mood.
