Robert McCloskey, Drawing for Make Way for Ducklings, 1941
One of the most beloved American children’s books of all time gets its due with the new exhibit Make Way for Ducklings: The Art of Robert McCloskey at the Museum of Fine Arts beginning November 25. A celebration of the 75th anniversary of the 1941 Boston-set classic, the show also celebrates the entire career of the award-winning, Boston-trained author and illustrator with more than 50 drawings from the title story as well as other favorites like the Maine-centered Blueberries for Sal (1948), and even features paintings McCloskey created in addition to his more well-known works.
