A distinct Harvard theme runs through the relocated Boston Calling music festival this year as it makes the move from its former home at City Hall Plaza to the Harvard Athletic Complex in the Hub’s Allston neighborhood. From May 26–28, this entertainment extravaganza features headliners Chance the Rapper (Friday), Mumford & Sons (pictured, Saturday) and Tool (Sunday) along with dozens of other established and up-and-coming musical acts on three stages. There’s even a special Boston Calling Comedy Experience at Harvard’s Bright-Landry Hockey Center with such stand-out stand-ups as Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro and former Massachusetts resident Eugene Mirman of “Bob’s Burgers” fame. Enhancing the event is the myriad of food and drink options, including beer from Mikkeller and Sam Adams as well as cuisine ranging from burgers and pizza to Vietnamese and Mexican.
