Since 2005, Boston Fashion Week has been a cheerleader for the local fashion industry by featuring runway shows, photography exhibits, educational lectures and more throughout the metropolitan area. Expect many of the same happenings October 1–7, as well as the return of GlamSlam—an event in which local fashion professionals share their inspiring stories—and new initiatives like The 17+, a search for the best up-and-coming talent the Hub has to offer that culminates at the official opening party on October 1 at Explorateur (186 Tremont St.) at 7 p.m., where the public can mingle with the city’s fashionistas in style.
