The New England Anime Society has been promoting Japanese culture in this region since 2001, and nowhere is its dedication to its mission more apparent than at the annual Anime Boston event. Held at the Hynes Convention Center March 30–April 1, this showcase for Japanese animation, comics and pop culture features appearances by anime voice actors and creators, art displays, a music video contest, karaoke, dance parties and plenty of video games to play, contests in which to participate and manga to read, not to mention an army of fans in creative outfits walking around the convention floor. Whether you’re a diehard cosplayer or just looking for a fun place to people-watch, this lively spectacle is the place to be.
