Although no one will ever mistake the Museum of Fine Arts for a florist shop, the venerable Fenway institution is adorned with colorful blossoms every spring thanks to its annual Art in Bloom event. Taking place officially from April 28–30, this showcase of masterful flower arrangements crafted by area garden clubs paired with the museum’s art masterpieces kicks off with an evening preview April 27 from 5–10 p.m. Expert guests are sprinkled throughout the festival—including ticketed lectures and classes from British floral artist Joseph Massie and local party planner extraordinaire Bryan Rafanelli—as well as special tours and demonstrations of ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging.
