Celebrate a milestone with one of the most acclaimed dance companies in the nation when Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater makes its annual appearance at the Boch Center’s Wang Theatre May 2–5. This 60th anniversary tour features performances of a handful of classic dances by the troupe’s late, namesake founder as well as new work—including the two-act ballet Lazarus (pictured) by Ailey artist-in-residence Rennie Harris—that demonstrate the power, athleticism and sheer joy that has been a hallmark of this beloved New York-based institution since its inception.
