Fall is a particularly active time on the local sports calendar, especially with the residents of Fenway Park in the playoffs (Go Sox!). With that bonus, as well as the National Football League season in full swing and the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League just starting up, it’s a perfect time to celebrate all that is Boston sports. While the Boston Red Sox schedule is subject to how far they make it in the Major League Baseball post-season, we do know the opening home dates for our beloved Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics as they make their debuts at the TD Garden (pictured) for the 2021–2022 campaigns. The NHL’s Bruins recently played their first home game, a 3–1 victory over the Dallas Stars on October 16. Upcoming home games include tilts against the San Jose Sharks on October 24 and the Florida Panthers on October 30. For the Celtics, there’s still time to catch their first game at the Garden, which takes place October 22, when they face the Toronto Raptors on the parquet floor. They next take on the Washington Wizards on October 27 to round out the month in the Hub.
For those that want to make the trip down to Foxborough, the New England Patriots next play at Gillette Stadium on October 24 against AFC East division rivals the New York Jets. And soccer fans need not feel left out, either, as the Pats’ stadium mates, the New England Revolution, are the top team in Major League Soccer. That team’s next match is October 27 against the Colorado Rapids. The MLS regular season finale takes place at home as well when the Revs vie against Miami on November 7.
