After a two-year hiatus, the buds and petals of spring once again inhabit the exhibition spaces of the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) when the in-person version of Art in Bloom returns April 29–May 1. In this beloved, 46th annual tradition, elaborate flower arrangements are paired with the Fenway institution’s masterpieces, bringing new life to already colorful galleries. In addition to a registration-required preview on April 28 noon–5 p.m., special events include a lecture and demonstration by New York-based floral designers Michael Putnam and Taylor Putnam, and master classes led by renowned florist Françoise Weeks. While you’re there, be sure to check out all the MFA’s other outstanding offerings, including its recently opened blockbuster Turner’s Modern World, an exploration of 19th century British painter J. M. W. Turner’s works that features more than 100 paintings and drawings that delve into the rapidly changing world of that era.
