Now in its sixth year, the free photography showcase that is the Flash Forward Festival Boston (flashforwardfestival.com) returns May 1–8 for a series of indoor and outdoor exhibits, lectures and parties across the Boston area. Check out a panel discussion on contemporary documentary photography practices at Lesley University in Cambridge on May 3, an artist talk and opening reception for a display of the work of Greek photographer Alexandros Lambrovassilis at New England School of Photography in Kenmore Square on May 4, the emerging artist-supporting Flash Forward Boston Incubator 2016 exhibition and silent auction in Jamaica Plain on May 7 and the closing celebration at the SoWa Open Market in the South End on May 8 from noon–4 p.m., among other exciting events.
