“Family Guy” in the Fenway

Pairing the Boston Pops (301 Massachusetts Ave., 617-266-1200, bso.org) with “Family Guy” creator and Rhode Island native Seth MacFarlane might seem strange at first, yet for anyone who has heard his Grammy-nominated, 1940s- and ’50s-style swing jazz vocals might not think twice. The dynamic duo of MacFarlane and Pops conductor Keith Lockhart (pictured) team up at Symphony Hall on opening night, May 6, to pay tribute to the Great American Songbook. Other upcoming highlights include “Dancing with a Twist” on May 7 & 8, which features veterans of “Dancing with the Stars,” “So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol.”
