Best of the Fest

As difficult as it is to believe, Independence Day is right around the corner, and there’s no greater sign of this than Boston Harborfest. Taking place July 1–4, this 35th annual celebration of all things patriotic is centered around some of the city’s most beloved and well-known historic landmarks, including the opening ceremony at Faneuil Hall July 1 at noon, where revelers can listen to tunes from the 215th Army Band and indulge in a slice of the official Harborfest cake. Also on tap is the Arts at Harborfest art fair at the North End’s Christopher Columbus Park on July 2 from 11 a.m.–6 p.m., special tours along the famed Freedom Trail every day from 10 a.m.–5 p.m., a concert and fireworks at Long Wharf on July 2 from 6–10 p.m., and the Taste of Harborfest culinary showcase, also at Long Wharf, on July 3 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
