Science Goes Pop
Chronicling the strange twists and turns technology has taken over the years in both reality and science fiction is the raison d’être of POPnology, the latest special exhibit at the Museum of Science. An intersection of science and imagination, POPnology features interactive displays with both actual tech inspired by the make-believe worlds depicted in Star Wars, Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey—from virtual reality to robots to 3-D printers—and props like the time-travelling DeLorean from Back to the Future III that remain strictly in the pop cultural realm—for now. There’s even a Back to the Future marathon featuring the first two films on June 29.
