Hockey is a tradition in this region, and there’s perhaps no greater evidence of this than The Beanpot, the annual hockey tournament between rival schools Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University and Harvard University. Held at the TD Garden, this storied contest for local bragging rights marks its 66th iteration this year, with the Harvard Crimson as the reigning 2017 champion. See who gets to keep the silver trophy for 2018 as BC faces Northeastern at 5 p.m. and BU skates against Harvard at 8 p.m. in the preliminary round on February 5. The finals take place the following Monday, February 12, with the winners facing off at 7:30 p.m. after the 4:30 p.m. consolation match.
