State of the Arts

A statewide showcase for Massachusetts’ creative community, ArtWeek returns for a second year, offering nearly 600 mostly free events covering a variety of disciplines. From April 26–May 5, savor art shows, take drawing classes and marvel at dance and music performances from Cape Cod to the Berkshires. Highlights right here in the Hub include an open rehearsal for the Eureka Ensemble (pictured) at the Church of the Covenant on April 28, an art installation of marine life made from recycled plastic bottles on Causeway Street April 27 & 28 and a puppet workshop in Somerville on May 4. There’s even a culinary aspect, as various participating restaurants are offering cocktails or dishes inspired by the arts. For a complete list of events, visit artweekma.org
