Building Fun

When the Lego Discovery Center Boston first opened at Assembly Row in Somerville’s Assembly Square in 2014 as the Legoland Discovery Center, it was the first facility of its kind in New England. Now, this already fun destination for both big and little fans of the multi-colored building blocks unveils a major upgrade beginning May 25, making it even more of a must-see for the entire family. New additions include the Spaceship Build & Scan, where visitors can create their own spacecraft and launch it into a digital universe; Duplo Park (pictured), where young kids and their grown-ups can build and play together; the Minifigure Creator, where guests can craft their own wild Lego characters; and Hero Adventures, a play area that combines Lego City and Ninjago into an amazing realm complete with a laser maze, climbing walls and more. And don’t forget old favorites like the 4D Cinema, Lego Workshop, Kingdom Quest, the Lego Café and, of course, the gift shop, where everyone can walk away with a memento of an unforgettable experience.
