Enjoy a local craft brew al fresco at these scenic spots

Aeronaut Brewing: The Somerville beer maker revives its warm weather outpost at Allston’s The Sideyard at Zone 3 beginning May 9. Thursday through Saturday evenings, look forward to games, food trucks, live music and more along this Harvard-inspired arts, retail and events space along Western Avenue. 

The Anchor: The multi-level, multi-brewery gathering spot next to the Charlestown Navy Yard is only open weekends in April, yet expect the usual fun—from yoga classes to live music to dancing—to resume when the full schedule gets underway starting May 1. In the meantime, guests can still expect brews from around New England along with wine, cocktails and sweet and savory treats like lobster rolls, nachos, sandwiches and ice cream.

Cisco Brewers: The Nantucket-based outfit returned to Boston’s Seaport April 11, boasting a seventh season of its pop-up showcase of live music, delectable food offerings (tacos, pizza, lobster rolls and more), cocktails featuring liquor from Cisco’s Triple Eight Distillery, wine courtesy of Nantucket Vineyards and, of course, its core lineup of craft beer offerings seven days a week.

Night Shift Brewing: The Everett-based beer-makers host two beer gardens along the banks of the beautiful Charles River: one on the Esplanade and another farther west in Herter Park in Allston. Open Wednesday though Sunday, they both serve the brewery’s acclaimed libations while hosting a wide variety of food trucks.

Trillium Brewing (pictured): A seasonal staple on the Rose Kennedy Greenway since 2017, the Trillium Garden on the Greenway boasts a wide variety of the popular craft brewer’s creations, from hoppy and hazy IPAs to sours and farmhouse ales. Expect a rotating lineup of the city’s best food trucks as well at one of the Hub’s most picturesque places to refuel and relax.
