From pop-ups to all-season destinations, take advantage of unique shopping opportunities at these festive hot spots
Trillium Brewing: The acclaimed brewery and distillery offers two opportunities to shop and sample its latest concoctions. At the Fort Point location, a Holiday Market takes place December 7 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., while the Canton outpost hosts the same on December 7 & 14 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. and December 8 & 15 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., complete with tastings, vendors, holiday festivities and special treats.
French Library: The Back Bay cultural institution hosts its 21st Marché de Noël—a ticketed holiday market chock full of opportunities to shop for French-inspired jewelry, books, housewares, gourmet morsels and more while sipping on hot mulled wine and cider—on December 7 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. There's even a raffle, an arts and crafts area and holiday fun planned for the kids.
Charles Square: Head to the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square on December 7 & 14 from noon–5 p.m. for this outdoor Holiday Market offering gift items from local vendors as well as seasonal drinks from the One Reason Garden and Noir bars.
Boston Public Market: The city’s spectacular indoor farmers market gets in on the Black Friday action when it inaugurates its seasonal Sip & Shop Holiday Market, which runs Fridays to Sundays through December 22 and features one-of-a-kind, pop-up holiday suppliers for all your entertaining and gifting necessities, alongside bars serving a variety of adult beverages.
SoWa Boston: The funkier side of the South End hosts its annual SoWa Winter Festival (pictured) beginning November 29. Seven days a week through December 22, expect plenty of vendors selling an eye-popping array of food, beverage and artisan goods that should make even the pickiest people on your holiday listing glow with yuletide spirit.
