Coming to America

Already one of Beantown’s best attractions, the Skywalk Observatory (refer to listing, page 43) at the top of the Prudential Tower now has something new for those eager to glimpse a bird’s-eye view of the city. The Dreams of Freedom: Boston’s Immigrant Experience exhibit recently unveiled a major renovation that enhances the longtime display, illuminating the Hub’s nearly 400-year history of welcoming newcomers to these shores. Highlights include interactive features where visitors can test their knowledge of American government, information on Boston’s ever-changing immigrant demographics and an updated film, Dreams of Freedom: The Boston Story, that is narrated by local comedian Jimmy Tingle and features an interview with Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, himself the son of immigrant parents.
