High 5: Holiday Markets

From pop-ups to all-season destinations, take advantage of unique shopping opportunities at these festive hot spots

Idle Hands Craft Ales: The Malden-based brewery hosts a holiday market on November 16 from noon–4 p.m. that boasts bites of artisan food from the likes of Revelry N’awlilns Cuisine and a selection of gifts from local artists—not to the mention freshly crafted beer, of course.

Time Out Market Boston: Experience the Holly Jolly Holiday Market on November 16 from noon–5 p.m. at this Fenway food hall. A wide array of local artisans sell everything from yarn to jewelry and sweets to original art, all of which visitors can browse while sampling cocktails and snacks and listening to live music.

High Street Place: On November 29 & 30 from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. this Downtown food hall highlights 10 women-owned small businesses selling jewelry, pottery, knitwear and more, which shoppers can browse alongside High Street’s 20 restaurant stalls while listening to live music and taking part in special photo ops.

Boston Public Market: The city’s spectacular indoor farmers market gets in on the Black Friday action when it inaugurates its seasonal Holiday Market, which runs Fridays to Sundays through December 22 and features one-of-a-kind holiday gift vendors and suppliers for all your entertaining necessities.

SoWa Boston: The funkier side of the South End hosts its annual SoWa Winter Festival (pictured) beginning November 29. Seven days a week through December 22, expect plenty of vendors selling an eye-popping array of food, beverage and artisan goods that should make even the pickiest people on your holiday listing glow with yuletide spirit.
