For the second time, and the first time since 2016, Boston and the TD Garden once again welcome the ISU World Figure Skating Championships, which take place from March 25–30. The venerable Skating Club of Boston, along with U.S. Figure Skating, serves as the host for this pivotal competition that helps determine participants and team sizes for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. More than 200 of the best athletes from around the world—including reigning men’s world champion and U.S. team member Ilia Malinin, along with locally based pairs skaters Emily Chan and Spencer Howe (pictured) and 2025 U.S. champions Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov—vie for supremacy in men’s, women’s, pairs and ice dance categories in this last step for many as they journey on the road to glory in Milan.
