Now in its third year, the biannual Boston Calling  music festival has continually delighted local music lovers with its diverse lineups of acts ranging in genre from indie rock to hip-hop to electronic dance music, always seeming to get the choice picks of some of the hottest touring bands in the country. This fall’s edition, staged September 25–27 at City Hall Plaza, is no different—Friday’s performers include the roots-influenced The Avett Brothers and chart-topping Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men, while the weekend features Southern rockers Alabama Shakes, British alternative rock heroes Alt-J, soulful Irish singer/songwriter Hozier (pictured) and power-popsters Walk the Moon.
