Up In Arms
Beginning April 15, in celebration of the return of the giant Pacific octopus (pictured) to its expanded home at the New England Aquarium, the appropriately titled Tentacles program makes its debut, highlighting the Aquarium’s many-limbed creatures—including the much smaller red octopuses, cuttlefish, sea jellies and chambered nautilus—through special talks and activities. Meanwhile, the new “octopus’ garden” for the repatriated cephalopod features fellow invertebrates from its biologically rich, Pacific Northwest habitat. If you catch the eight-armed critter at the right time, you can even witness it working on a puzzle.
