What do an epaulette, California swell and whitespotted bamboo have in common? They’re all unusual species of shark that visitors can learn about at the new Science of Sharks exhibit at the New England Aquarium. Not exactly “Jaws,” these are among the 80 percent of sharks that measure four feet in length or less. View these miniature marine predators and learn the latest research by Aquarium scientists before receiving a hands-on experience at the facility’s popular Shark and Ray Touch Tank. And while you can’t get up-close-and-personal, fans of the ever-fascinating great white shark can absorb a wealth of knowledge at a special lecture May 25 from 7–9 p.m. at the Aquarium’s Simons IMAX Theatre.
