Eating a multi-course fish dinner on Christmas Eve is a long-standing tradition in many households in southern Italy and Sicily, so it’s no surprise that the very Italian North End of Boston is one of the best places to participate in this elaborate indulgence. Seafood specialist Il Molo (326 Commercial St., 857-277-1895, ilmoloboston.com) is preparing its own version of the so-called “Feast of the Seven Fishes” from December 18–24, featuring an a la carte menu from chef Pino Maffeo that is headlined by such dishes as spicy lobster fra diavolo, baccala (salt cod), stuffed cuttlefish, baked clams, branzino (pictured) and stuffed lobster. Served between 4–8 p.m., this cornucopia of fresh ocean offerings is accompanied by a complimentary dessert—struffoli, a fried dough confection tossed with honey and sprinkles—providing a sweet ending to a satisfying meal.
