In Vino Veritas
For oenophiles throughout the Boston area, the annual Boston Wine Expo is like the Super Bowl, Christmas and the Fourth of July all wrapped up into one grand event. Entering its 24th year, the festival takes place at the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center on February 14 & 15 and features a Vintner’s Reserve Lounge at the Seaport Hotel’s Plaza Ballroom that allows aficionados to sip some of the rarest vintages available while enjoying cuisine from some of the finest restaurants in the city, as well as take in special seminars throughout the weekend. The centerpiece of this two-day extravaganza, however, remains the Grand Tasting, taking place Saturday and Sunday from 1–5 p.m. Wine makers from all over the world gather at the World Trade Center and offer tastings of more than 2,000 wines to tickle the palates of enthusiastic attendees. Celebrity chefs—including locals like Blue Dragon’s Ming Tsai and Barbara Lynch of No. 9 Park and Menton—participate in live cooking demonstrations to tantalize the taste buds.
