High 5: Thanksgiving Feasts

Enjoy your holiday feast away from home on November 24 at one of these fine eateries

Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse (pictured): The Seaport and Back Bay locations of this beloved Mediterranean mainstay boast oven-roasted, free-range organic turkey from Vermont along with Yukon Gold creamy potatoes, challah bread herb stuffing, cranberry apple chutney and more. Be sure to leave room for homemade apple and pumpkin pie or pecan tart. A take-home version of the meal can be pre-ordered through November 22 at 5 p.m. and picked up November 23.

Henrietta’s Table: The grandfather of all farm-to-table restaurants offers its annual T-Day repast in Harvard Square from noon–6 p.m. The four-courses feature such seasonal treats as pumpkin bisque, a fall greens salad, turkey with gravy and homemade cranberry sauce (or a grain bowl for vegetarians), and a trio of treats for dessert that include an apple crisp tartlet, pumpkin pie and a flourless chocolate cake. For those not celebrating on the road November 24, pies and bread are available to go with advance order.

Bambara Kitchen & Bar: From 4–7 p.m., this eatery at Cambridge’s Kimpton Marlowe Hotel offers sous vide turkey breast, confit turkey legs and fixings like roasted mushroom stuffing, roasted Brussels sprouts and cranberry compote. Apple and pumpkin pie are available for dessert, as well as the full cocktail, beer and wine menu.

Bistro du Midi: With its prime location across from the Public Garden, this French-accented dining destination is an ideal spot for indulging in a prix fixe Thanksgiving meal. With choices that include pumpkin soup, venison and pork terrine, tuna or American Wagyu beef tartare, Spanish octopus, Faroe Island salmon, duck breast, filet mignon and, of course, roast turkey, you simply can’t go wrong. A few blocks away, Bistro’s sister restaurant, the luxurious Back Bay steak house Grill 23, is also open for the holiday, offering a sumptuous turkey dinner and more.

Plimoth Patuxet Museums: Journey south of Boston to where it all began, as the iconic living history museum dedicated to the early English settlers and Indigenous people of the area honors the past by presenting a holiday feast for the ages. Three versions are available Thanksgiving weekend: the popular home-style buffet (which sells out quickly—book now!); the equally in-demand, nearly sold-out “The Story of Thanksgiving” Dinner, which is only available for two sessions on November 25; and the New England Harvest Feast, which has sessions November 23, 25 & 26 and includes genuine 17th century cuisine and entertainment.
