High 5: Christmas Day Dining

Rejoice in the holiday spirit on December 25 at these delicious destinations

Abe & Louie’s: The Back Bay mainstay has four exclusive Yuletide dishes planned for the day, including smoked trout pate, a brie and baked pear tart, slow-roasted prime rib and Georges Bank sea scallops. Save room for pineapple upside-down cake and butter cake with cherries, both served with vanilla ice cream. The same menu is also available Christmas Eve.

Artisan Bistro: This upscale stopover at the Theatre District’s Ritz-Carlton, Boston hotel welcomes holiday diners with lemon pepper Cornish hen, rack of lamb, pan-seared Arctic char and more, all part of a tempting four-course, prix-fixe menu.

Atlantic Fish Co. (pictured): Along with its full menu, the Back Bay seafood specialist serves several special Christmas dishes, including main attractions like Dover sole and roasted duck, on December 24 & 25.

Contessa: The chic rooftop eatery perched at the apex of The Newbury Boston hotel not only boasts lovely views of the Back Bay and surrounding area, it also offers a four-course, prix-fixe menu that offers such luxurious plates as burrata with caviar, spicy lobster rigatoni, grilled Mediterranean branzino and, for dessert, torta di baci or olive oil ice cream with truffle.

Nubar: From 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., fill up until you’re jolly at a sumptuous buffet at this modern eatery at Harvard Square’s Sheraton Commander Hotel. Enjoy a carving station with glazed ham and roast sirloin, main dishes like grilled chicken and roasted salmon, and sides like butternut squash, baby Yukon potatoes and glazed parsnips, as well as salad and desserts that include Yule logs and an assortment of seasonal pies.
