Bask in the warm glow of seasonal displays at these yuletide destinations

Magic of Lights: Enjoy a drive-through holiday lights experience at Gillette Stadium through Christmas Eve (minus the dates November 28–30) with this showcase of twinkling LED displays that make the season sparkle.

ZooLights: Head to the Stone Zoo for its array of thousands of lights that illuminate and adorn the pathways and animal enclosures at this suburban menagerie nightly from 4–9:30 p.m. Excepting Christmas and Thanksgiving, visitors can take in the magical scene through January 9, which this year includes large-scale lantern displays that add the usual excitement like the carousel and Jungle Fun ride.

Winterlights: Three historic properties get sparkling November 26–January 9 thanks to the Trustees, a non-profit that drapes several of its spots across the state in holiday cheer. Close to Boston, take in the lights at the gardens of the Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate in Canton, while the grounds of the Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens in North Andover are also illuminated. For those looking for a holiday-themed road trip, you can visit Naumkeag in Stockbridge in the beautiful Berkshires. Hurry up, though—tickets are selling fast and many December dates are already sold out.

31 Nights of Light: The Prudential Center participates in the holiday revelry by celebrating different charities every night in December, lighting up the top of the Prudential tower with each charity’s colors. Highlighted non-profits include Perkins School for the Blind, the Boston Bruins Foundation, Autism Speaks and the MSPCC.

Light Up Seaport & Holiday Stroll: This one-time event takes place December 3 from 5–9 p.m. at Seaport Commons and includes a tree-lighting ceremony and performance by the Boston Children’s Chorus followed by a walk through the Seaport to visit vendors who offer one-night-only promotions. Come back on December 5 for a menorah lighting from 4–5:30 p.m. that includes some tasty kosher treats.
