Your Favorite Thing
Fans of the beloved musical The Sound of Music—and you know who you are—may have to resist singing along when the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein tuner takes up residence at the Boston Opera House March 29–April 10. Expect all your favorite songs—from “Do-Re-Mi” and “Edelweiss” to “My Favorite Things” and, yes, “The Sound of Music”—highlighting the uplifting story of the von Trapp family and governess Maria as they plot a dramatic escape from the Nazis in the days leading up to World War II. This new production comes nearly 60 years after the show’s 1959 Broadway debut and more than 50 years after the premiere of the blockbuster film version, proving the timelessness of this heartwarming tale.
