The Merchant opens in Downtown Crossing

Housed in a former leather goods shop in Downtown Crossing, The Merchant is a stylish new brasserie-style spot open for lunch, dinner and late-night.

Chef Matt Foley (formerly of acclaimed Cambridge restaurant Craigie on Main) offers dishes such as seared jumbo scallops with cauliflower, grapefruit, Swiss chard and bacon; wild mushroom risotto with fontina and truffle honey; and veal sweet bread “nuggets” with pancetta chips.

The bar is a big focus for the Merchant team—there are three wines on tap, a burly beer list and signature cocktails like the Boston Collins: Bully Boy vodka, Earl Grey syrup, fresh lemon and soda.

Stop by The Merchant daily between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. Call 617-482-6060 or visit themerchantboston.com for more information.
