The Paris-based Van Cleef & Arpels has long been one of the most venerated names in luxury jewelry, so it’s no wonder that the company has opened its latest boutique on the Back Bay’s most stylish thoroughfare, Newbury Street. The new, more than 2,300-square-foot store (40 Newbury St., 617-892-9056, vancleefarpels.com) features items such as the dazzling, platinum-and-diamond Snowflake necklace (pictured) from the signature collection of the same name, as well as the first-in-the-U.S. Salon 1906. Named for Van Cleef & Arpels’ founding year, this special room showcases vintage pieces going back to the early 20th century, highlighting the illustrious, innovative history of the jeweler that has delighted for more than a century.
